The Notebook Guide and “You Can Do This” Sticker
This took 10 years to create.
With over 180 patients, oncologists, nurses, medical experts, caregivers, and tested across 25 clinics, the Dandelion Toolkit® makes a cancer diagnosis easier to understand using the visual metaphor of a dandelion to explain staging, pathology, subtype, and treatment options.
The Notebook contains over 100 pages that are designed to organize your diagnosis and treatment into easy-to-read sections that are fully illustrated. Inside the Notebook are blank spaces to fill in with your care team to ensure that key conversations are covered, along with room to make notes and organize medications, physical therapy, and more.
Patients have said this Toolkit made all the difference in being able to understand why certain treatments were recommended over others, and made it easier to share their diagnosis with others.
There are two versions available: Stages 0-3, and a Stage 4 Metastatic version.

The Dandelion Toolkit Includes the Conversation Card, 100+ page Navigation Notebook, and “You Can Do This” postcard, packaged in a colorful box.
The Conversation Card is used to communicate during the initial diagnosis conversation(s) that covers: staging, surgery, pathology (subtype), suggested treatments, and quality of life options. You can preview the Conversation Card here.
The Dandelion Notebook is a 100+ page customized spiral bound mini book that patients use to understand the basics of their diagnosis, the difference between treatment options, and serves as a means to take notes on side-effects, medications, as well as personal goals. At the handheld size of 4x6 inches, this is much smaller than the patient binder, making it easy to carry around between appointments. Patients simply take the information written on the Conversation Card, and fill in the blanks to review the details of their diagnosis, helping the patient feel more in control of an overwhelming situation. You can preview the Dandelion Notebook here.
**Metastatic Toolkits will be made available through the Metastatic Breast Cancer Alliance in 2024.**
